077 40x60x12 residential agricultural barn
A 2,400 square foot residential agricultural barn only stays simple if the owner resists the urge to add features it doesn’t need. This Pennsylvania build skips windows entirely and lets a 60 foot ridge vent and gable vent handle airflow instead. 077 40x60x12 is built for residential agricultural storage on a scale that fits vehicles, equipment, and hay under one roof, with two 10×10 garage doors doing the daily work. That is the buyer this 40×60 agricultural barn fits: someone who wants square footage and access, not a checklist of add-ons.

Explore Building 077 40x60x12 residential barn with garage doors
Start with the roofline on 077 40x60x12. Ocean Blue siding under a Brite White roof and trim is a high contrast pairing at this 4/12 pitch, the kind this residential barn with garage doors is built to show off. The eaves carry a 1 foot overhang, but both gables on this residential agricultural barn are flush, no overhang at all. That’s a cost and maintenance decision, not an oversight.
Walk the front elevation next. Two 10×10 garage doors sit side by side, sized for vehicles, with the entry door tucked to one side. At 40 feet wide and 60 feet long, the proportions hold up across a long eave run, which is worth studying if you’re planning a 40×60 agricultural barn and worried about a facade that reads too flat, a question our PA barn builders hear often.
Whether you’re planning a personal garage, backyard workshop, or something more specialized, this Pole Post Frame Building offers a smart foundation for inspiration. You can also explore even more real builds in our full Project Gallery to see what’s possible with Pioneer.

Building Specifications
A residential agricultural barn this size carries its load differently once the gable ends go flush. 077 40x60x12 uses 40 foot standard trusses spaced 4 feet on center at a 4/12 pitch, engineered to Pennsylvania snow load by our PA barn builders. Flush gables mean the truss tails stop at the wall line instead of extending past it, which trims material but puts more weight on trim detailing to finish the edge cleanly. Brite White 28 gauge Frontier Panel covers the roof, backed by a 50 year warranty.
Ocean Blue panel wraps the walls of this residential agricultural storage barn with the same 50 year warranty, trimmed in Brite White. This residential barn with garage doors runs on two 10×10 residential garage doors plus a 3068 six panel entry door, all in white. One foot overhangs cover both eave sides, the flush gables skip that protection, and white vinyl soffit finishes the eaves. Sixty feet of ridge vent and a gable vent handle airflow with no windows in the plan, and 120 feet of gutter carries water off a 40×60 agricultural barn this large.

Frequently Asked Questions
How big is a 40×60 barn inside?
A 40×60 agricultural barn gives you 2,400 square feet under one roof. Project 077 splits that access across two 10×10 garage doors plus a separate entry door for foot traffic.
What drives the cost on a barn this size?
Barn cost depends too much on scope to publish a flat number. On 077 40x60x12, the garage doors, flush gable trim, and ridge and gable vent system move the quote on this residential barn with garage doors.
Why doesn’t this barn have windows?
Some owners skip windows on a residential agricultural barn to cut cost and keep the wall simple. This build relies on 60 feet of ridge vent and a gable vent instead, handling airflow without window trim to maintain.
Do PA barn builders work on large residential barns?
Yes. Pioneer has completed more than 30,000 post frame buildings across the Mid-Atlantic since 1998, and our PA barn builders handle residential agricultural storage at this scale statewide.
Pricing & Financing Options
A residential agricultural barn at 2,400 square feet doesn’t price the same as a smaller building with the same door count. 077 40x60x12 carries two 10×10 residential garage doors, flush gable trim on both ends instead of standard overhangs, and a combined ridge and gable vent system in place of windows. Each of those moves the quote on its own, separate from the base square footage, and each one is engineered specifically for this residential barn with garage doors.
The flush gable detail is the one owners underestimate on a 40×60 agricultural barn. Skipping the gable overhang saves material, but it shifts more finish work onto the trim where the wall meets the roof, and that labor doesn’t scale down just because the overhang did. Our PA barn builders can walk through where residential agricultural storage like this one saves money and where it doesn’t, before the quote gets written.
We also offer flexible Financing Options so you can get started without compromising on design or quality.

Final Thought
The lesson in 077 40x60x12 is what this owner chose to leave out. No windows, no gable overhangs, nothing that adds trim without adding function. A residential agricultural barn built this way isn’t stripped down, it’s edited, and the two 10×10 garage doors and the entry door carry all the access this building needs.
That editing changes what Pioneer frames and finishes on this residential barn with garage doors. Flush gables mean the crew details the rake trim tighter against the wall instead of building out an overhang, and the ridge and gable vent system has to move the same air that windows would otherwise handle. A 40×60 agricultural barn without windows still needs airflow engineered in, not assumed.
Pioneer has built more than 30,000 post frame buildings across the Mid-Atlantic since 1998, with Pennsylvania one of seven states served. Our PA barn builders have framed enough residential agricultural storage buildings to know which cost-saving choices hold up and which ones create callbacks. Project 077’s owner picked the ones that hold up.
